Balotelli turns on Manchester derby heat with mischievous picture

He might still be a Liverpool player in principle, but it seems that Mario Balotelli nonetheless identifies himself with one of the Reds’ Premier League foes – Manchester City.
Having played for the blue half of Manchester between 2010 and 2013, Mario essentially developed as a player at the Etihad under coach Roberto Mancini. Unlike his time at Anfield, there were several memorable highlights to his City career, providing the assist to Sergio Aguero for the goal that won the league in 2012 among others.

Also, helping them to thrash local rivals Manchester United 6-1 that very same season was pretty damn special – especially for the fans.

Despite the fact that he’s currently out on loan at AC Milan, Mario hasn’t failed to realise the significance of this weekend. The Manchester derby looms large once more. He might be hundreds of miles away in Italy, but the maverick striker still wants to play a part in proceedings.

In typical fashion, he’s just done his bit to add to the pre-match tension with this Instagram post…

In prompt and timely fashion, Mario has trolled United fans with this naughty reminder of their absolute trouncing at the hands of their noisy neighbours.

Whoever wins it, let’s hope this weekend’s match is as much of a cracker as the “Why always me?” game.

The Red Devils won’t need too much extra motivation after seeing this. Bring on derby day, I guess.
