The competition that has birthed numerous major leaguers in the music industry kicked off in grand style for the 8th season on August 1st 2015 with the never before seen appearance of all past winners, the unveiling of the new dance choreographer/group, and the final audition of the remaining 18 contestants.
According to TheNET, the 18 contestants will perform before a packed live studio audience and judges, for the best to be picked.
It was learnt that the lucky qualifiers from the opening will make their way into the famous MTN Project Fame Academy to compete for this year’s MTN Project Fame winner.
Information gathered shows that the overall winner of the competition will walk away with a grand prize of N5m, a brand new SUV and a recording deal worth millions of Naira.
While the 1st runner up will get a saloon car and N3m, the 2nd runner up will be awarded a brand new saloon car along with N1m. The 3rd runner up will receive a cash prize of N1m.
It would be recalled, the likes of Inyanya, Praiz, Chidima amongst others have all earned their rise to stardom from this platform.
