IT was another bad day for IfeanyiUbah FC yesterday in the on going premier league as the millionaire side fell at home to Kwara United in one of the week 18 pairings.
The defeat was coming three weeks after the club fell at home to Wikki in a match that saw the club management sacked its Bulgarian coach, Dobrev Mitko.
Chairman of the club, Chukwuma Uba who spoke last night on the loss to Kwara blamed it on carelessness on the part of the players who he said were too relaxed.
“The players were too relaxed. I cant understand what is happening. Honestly, I am short of words,” were Uba’s words last night.
For John Obuh, the club’s new manager, this was the second defeat in four league games having lost their first game against Heartland in Port Harcourt.
While IfeanyiUbah was losing at home, defending champion, Kano Pillars got her league woes compounded as it was forced to a 1-1 draw by visiting Wikki Tourists who had now gone five games unbeaten. With yesterday’s home draw, the sack axe is now dangling on Pillars coach, Okey Emordi who had been warned to turn the club’s fortune around or get fired.
Heartland of Owerri got a result away against Elkanemi in a game that ended 1-1, while Bayelsa played out a goalless draw at home against Rangers. Enyimba bounced back to reckoning with a 3-1 home victory over leaders, Sunshine Stars.
