It's Official! Clarkson, May & Hammond Coming To Amazon Prime For New Show [SEE DETAILS]

Good news! The former Top Gear trio will be back next year with a brand new show.

After months of speculation we finally have a straightforward answer regarding the future of the most beloved motoring journalists… in the world. That’s right, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May have all confirmed that they’ve signed a deal with Amazon.
The show – which is currently unnamed – will go into production shortly and will air exclusively on the company’s video streaming platform – Amazon Prime. Furthermore, the trio committed to a three-season deal. Yay!

And the good news doesn’t stop here. Even Andy Wilman, Top Gear’s former executive producer and Clarkson’s outspoken pal, will be involved in the venture, which means the project won’t stray too much from the usual formula.

In the official press release, Clarkson stated: “I feel like I’ve climbed out of a bi-plane and into a spaceship.” May continued saying: “We have become part of the new age of smart TV. Ironic, isn't it?” While Hammond added: “Amazon? Oh yes. I have already been there. I got bitten by a bullet ant.”

Jay Marine – vice president of Amazon Prime Video EU – also stated: “Customers told us they wanted to see the team back on screen, and we are excited to make that happen. Our approach is to give programme makers creative freedom to be innovative and make the shows they want to make. This is just the start, you should expect to see more world-leading talent and the biggest shows on Prime Video.”

Anyone can sing-up for Amazon Prime for £79/year in the UK ($99/year in the US) and members can even watch their favorite TV programs using the Amazon Video app.

Meanwhile, the BBC is still on the lookout for cast members to complete the new Top Gear line-up.
