Manchester United F.C, Dutch manager, Louis Van Gaal has expressed his fears that summer signing Memphis Depay might end up flopping like Di Maria and Chelsea’s Radamel Falcao and has subsequently sent a strong note of warning to the exciting young winger.
Reports coming out of Old Trafford suggests that Van Gaal is unhappy with Memphis Depay’s attitude and extravagant lifestyle off the pitch and former Manchester United F.C skipper and current assistant manager, Ryan Giggs has been advising him.“Ryan has already given advice to him but the player is responsible for his own deeds,” Louis Van Gaal said.
“You have to give respect to your team philosophy.” he added.
Van Gaal further said“We have seen that some players cannot adapt to the team philosophy. You cannot know in advance before you buy them. You have to wait and see. That happened with Angel di Maria and [last season’s expensive loan signing from Monaco Radamel] Falcao.”
When asked by the press what Depay needs to do to fulfill his potential the former Holland boss replied: “I only discuss that with Memphis, not with you.”
“Do I still believe in him? Of course.” he further added.
“The problem with young players is they are not consistent. That you have to learn. We have to give him time.” he concluded.
