Borno State Government Plans To Close Down All IDP Camps By 1st Quarter Of 2016

 
The Borno state government has revealed it plans to close down all Internally Displaced People’s Camp (IDPC) in the state by the first quarter of next year, 2016.
Already three out of the twenty local councils taken over by Boko Haram early this year,2015 are finalizing plans to return to their homes following the success of the Nigerian Army in hijacking the towns from the terrorist sect.

The governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima didn’t hide his desire to and has initiated plans to start the state’s rebuilding process and dismantle all makeshifts camps in the state.

Governor Kashim Shettima, made a call to the United Nations, the federal government and all other Non-Governmental organizations to shift their focus from taking care of the makeshift camps to resettling these displaced people in their homes.

“Our people need to go back home, resettled and pick up the pieces of their lives,” he said.

It is also believed that already the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) is working on rebuilding the destroyed societies through its special intervention programme.

The Director General of NEMA, Sani Sidi revealed that the agency had so far supported the rebuilding process by supplying building materials as even a greater number of communities prepare to head back to heir homes.
