Jay Z is adding another superstar to the Roc Nation Sports
roster. The hip-hop mogul just signed one of Europe’s hottest soccer
players, Jerome Boateng, to his management company.
Boateng is a defender for Bayern Munich, one of
Germany’s best teams. The 26-year-old becomes the first soccer star and
European to join the Roc Nation Sports family, which includes athletes
such as Kevin Durant, Victor Cruz, and Skylar Diggins.
They celebrated the deal at Jay Z’s 40/40 club in New York before continuing the party at Hov’s private villa. “I took my sister and my best friend,” Boateng told German newspaper Welt am Sonntag. “It was a great day with Jay Z. We could ask him anything.”
They bonded over their love for music and sports. “We mostly talked about music and [soccer]. Jay Z knows about [soccer] and has watched numerous games,” said Boateng.
With Jay Z’s help, Boateng hopes to conquer the U.S. “America is a big market. With Jay Z and Roc Nation I have a lot, we want to try what is possible.”
