A friend hiking with him took quick action and called police, prompting two dozen rescuers to spend two hours rescuing Mazurczak.
At around 7 p.m., rescue crews successfully pulled the hiker from the gorge using ropes. Miraculously, Mazurczak was unharmed, able to walk freely and showing little signs of his fall other than the mud caking his boots and clothing.
State Park Police issued Mazurczak a ticket for failing to use designated trails, according to WKBW.
Despite the incredible luck of this hiker, Gawker points out that just this year alone, two hikers have died after falling into a gorge at the state park, including a 14-year-old boy.
