Pure Water Producers Go On Strike

 

Association of Table Water Producers of Nigeria, Kwara State chapter, has embarked on strike in protest against the planned increase in price of sachet water popularly known as ‘pure water’ in the state.

The sachet water producers had earlier informed the public of the proposed hike, which would see the cost of a bag of the commodity, usually containing 20 sachets of ‘pure water’, rise from N80 to N120 and a sachet from N5 to N10.

Justifying the price hike, chairman of the association, Prince Adeleke Adewumi, said that producers could no longer cope with the present price, urging consumers to please accept the planned increment in good faith.
